How to attach Lawn Belt to PVC Pipe

(converter fitting to PVC Pipe installation)

You can attach Lawn Belt directly to a PVC Pipe or Sprinkler Manifold. Because Lawn Belt accepts most 1/2" sprinkler heads, sprinkler parts and accessories, attaching our sprinkler system into a PVC Pipe may make good sense if you already have an existing system.

Because the inside of Lawn Belt is diamond in shape you must install a converter fitting before attaching a PVC Pipe to it.

Converting Lawn Belt to PVC Pipe allows you to quickly and easily expand your PVC sprinkler system by adding Lawn Belt to it.

Best of all converting Lawn Belt to PVC Pipe is easy! The Converter and Insert Fitting are simply attached into the end of Lawn Belt and then clamped down. Then a 1"×3/4" male adapter enables you to glue it directly into your PVC Pipe.

Converter fitting to Poly Insert fitting

First place the small converter clamp over the end of the Lawn Belt Converter. Loosely tighten the Converter Clamp making sure the screw is on the BOTTOM.

On the converter make sure that the word "UP" is in the top side.

Next push the 1/2" Poly Insert fitting completely into the Converter Fitting.

Finish tightening the Converter Clamp (again making sure the screw is on the BOTTOM). The barbed fitting should NOT be able to move once the clamp is tightened.

Connecting Lawn Belt to the Converter Fitting

Place clamp over the end of Lawn Belt.

Remember that Lawn Belt has a top and bottom. The top is the flat flange and the bottom is pointed part.

Loosely tighten the large Lawn Belt Clamp making sure the screw is on the BOTTOM.

Make sure converter fitting is wrapped with Teflon Plumbers Tape to seal.

With the converter fitting in facing "UP" and Lawn Belt facing "UP" insert the Converter fitting into the end of the Lawn Belt.

Keep pushing until the end of the Lawn Belt is squarely against the Converter Flange.

Finish tightening the large Lawn Belt Clamp (again making sure the screw is on the BOTTOM).

Tip: If the fitting is too tight try using a small amount of dishwasher soap over fitting and carefully work it back and forth around the opening while pushing.

Gluing the PVC Pipe to the Adapter Fitting

Lastly we need to glue the 1/2" PVC pipe to the our new end connection.

First we will need to wrap the 3/4" PVC adapter end with Teflon Tape.

Next screw on 3/4" × 1" PVC adapter to the 3/4" end of the insert fitting.

Next, apply PVC Pipe Primer / Cleaner to the PVC Pipe and to inside of adapter fitting.

Finally, apply PVC Cement to the PVC Pipe and to inside of adapter fitting. (same areas)

Quickly insert into end twisting slightly to ensure an even seal.

Enjoy years trouble free watering!
